Valkyrie Wilderness Workshops is supported by...

Valkyrie Wilderness Workshops has been pleased to receive successive grants from the National Lottery Community Fund to assist with the costs of running our site and providing support services to members of the local community.

Our National Lottery Grant makes it possible for us to offer our wellbeing groups completely free of charge for eligible attendees.

Team Valkyrie are grateful to the Veterans' Foundation for making a grant towards the cost of our 2022 Veterans events.

The Veterans' Foundation has been set up to help fund charities and other charitable organisations that are helping serving and former members of the Armed Forces, and their dependants, who are in need.

The Veterans' Foundation raises its money through the Veterans’ Lottery and donations. Since inception in July 2016, it has given over £10 million through almost 600 grants to over 300 unique organisations, many of them small to medium-sized and very worthwhile charities, which are helping members of the Armed Forces community who are in need.

Forecasts indicate the Veterans’ Foundation will make grants totaling £4.4 million this financial year. The charities and other organisations we have helped include those tackling the challenges of mental and physical injuries, homelessness, unemployment, children’s loss of parents while serving and remembrance.

Funding from the Royal British Legion helped towards meals for our veterans when they attended our events.

Funding from the Asda Foundation has helped us to purchase vital equipment for the maintenance and development of our site.

Grant funding from the Screwfix Foundation has enabled us to construct our indoor space, including installation of our log-burning stove and the facility to provide hot drinks for those attending our programmes.

It will also, when completed, offer a private office & interview space where we can help attendees access welfare support or discuss sensitive issues.

Sport England

Recent grant funding from Sport England enabled two of our volunteers to go on GB Archery Instructor training. This means we now have 4 archery instructors able to teach people who attend our events.
